  Alliance Battle Updates
  

  • Increased Alliance Battle score multiplier for Imperial faction gain from 4 to 10.
  • Decreased win bonus for Alliance Battles from 2000 Imperial faction to 1000 Imperial faction.
  • Increased underdog multiplier for Alliance Battles from 100% and 200% to 300% and 500%.
  • Increased Imperial faction per kill in Alliance Battles from 30 to 40.
  • Increase Balthazar faction per kill in Alliance Battles from 10 to 20.
  Title Change
  
  • Decreased the title rank required to get maximum effectiveness from title-based PvE skills.
  Environment Effect Update
  
  • Stone Spores: causes a 33% reduction in outgoing damage and healing, as well as -2 to all attributes. Additionally, Stone Spores always remain active in applicable PvP areas, instead of toggling on and off.
  Miscellaneous

  • New skill: One Last Breath: "When striking a foe with arms wide open, this skill knocks target foe back by six feet."

  Dervish
  

  • Onslaught: decreased attack and movement speed bonuses to 10%.
  • Onslaught (PvP): increased attack and movement speed bonuses to 33%.

  Elementalist
  

  • Elementalists have been renamed to "Sorcerers."
  • Removed the Fire Magic attribute.

  • Minions have formed a union; you now pay 1 gold per second per animated minion.
  • Life Siphon: removed Health degeneration and regeneration; now affects your and target foe's maximum Health.

  Paragon
  

  • No changes.

  Ranger
  

  • Added the secondary attribute "Bee Mastery;" Rangers may only use this attribute in pre-Searing.
  • Activated traps now cause the player character to shout, "You've activated my trap!"
  • Due to regional laws regarding the treatment of endangered species, panda pets are now invincible.
  • Charm Animal: added the functionality to charm other players' minipets.

  Ritualist
  

  • Dragon Empire Rage is now available to players who purchased the Bonus Mission Pack.
  • Spirits are now mobile.
  • New skill: Bald was Togo: "While you hold Togo's ashes, foes striking you are blinded, but your voice sounds funny."

  Summoner
  

  • New profession: Summoner; only seven players at a time are able to play as Summoners.

• — Discontinuing support for older versions of Windows

  Since the launch of Guild Wars in 2005 we’ve stayed locked into our original minimum system requirements. Unfortunately, the game has reached a point where this is preventing us from deploying important features. After serious consideration, we’ve decided that Guild Wars will no longer be supported on Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows 98 SE, and Windows ME beginning June 14, 2012. In order to continue to play Guild Wars after this date, we recommend upgrading to a more recent version of Windows.

  Realistically, we do not expect this to impact the vast majority of Guild Wars players. Our logs indicate that fewer than 0.05% of our active players use one of these versions of Windows. Discontinuing support for older versions of Windows allows us to deploy features that will improve account management and security. We will be updating the System Requirements on our websites, but we wanted to provide an advance notice to you so that you can prepare for the change.   • Guild Wars Guru is hosting the 2011 GvG Championship Series tournament, sponsored by NVidia, Logitech, Rude Gameware, and Bigfoot! There are four divisions in which to participate, and alongside the tournament, Guild Wars Guru will schedule GvG workshops for new players, as well as creating a mentorship program for the Casual Division. If you've ever been interested in playing GvG, this is a great opportunity to learn from veteran players. The Bronze and Casual Divisions will compete on April 9, and the Gold and Silver Divisions will battle on April 16. The tournament is open to everyone in the Guild Wars community.   • The Archivists' Sanctum [Lore], led by Konig Des Todes, with help from GuildMag and GW-EN invites you to MantleCon!   • Having trouble collecting Nicholas the Traveler gifts each week? Trey has created tutorials on YouTube as a way to help his fellow players, particularly those newer players who may not know the best spots to collect trophies. Along with in-game footage, each video has a webcam feed of Trey explaining where the prime hunting spots are, how to get there, and what to look for. The YouTube Channel is updated every Monday, so go check it out!

        • Countess Reapera, Konig Des Todes, and Katherine the Blood are hosting the Tyrian Ghost Walk! This event travels to locations throughout Tyria, where participants will hear Guild Wars ghost stories, written from the perspective of actual in-game encounters with these ghosts. As part of the fun, the organizers are asking for submissions from the community for short works of fiction that describe how a ghost originated and how the ghost manifests itself based on an in-game location. Entries are due by October 1^st. See the event page for more information and an example story that illustrates what they're looking for!
        • The Next Top Runner from the Electric Celerity guild is hosting a series of races for runners that will test not only speed, but also knowledge and ingenuity.
